There is nothing special about "Intel Optane". Its just a low capacity M.2 SSD with some caching software on it.
Its just an excuse to sell storage at higher prices per gig.

1세대 일반 소비자용 옵테인 메모리(16/32GB)의 경우 PCIe 3.0 x2, NVMe 1.1 호환 하루 100GB 가량의 DWPD로 사용할 수 있는 고성능 메모리라고 생각됨. SSD의 수명을 늘리거나 지속 쓰기가 느려지는 TLC SSD의 수명 연장 등에 사용될 수도 있으나, 개인적으론 그냥 NVMe 256GB, 512GB SSD를 구매하는 게 더 낫지 않나 싶음.
